Easy Indian Delicacies to Make for School Indian Sweets
100 + TRADITIONAL AND AUTHENTIC BEST INDIAN DESSERT RECIPES OR EASY INDIAN SWEETS THAT YOU CAN MAKE AT HOME
India is a land of festivals and the best part about this is, if you ask anyone a question on how a particular festival is celebrated in their community or region, the immediate answer would be - by sharing and eating sweets or mithai and lots of them 🙂 The variety of sweets prepared is countless, and each sweet recipe has several regional variations to it. #sweets #desserts
I still remember my childhood days, where my mom and grand mother got together in the kitchen at least 5 days before each festival to begin preparing variety of sweets and snacks for all the guests who came to visit us and also to distribute them to family and friends. But with each younger generation, this tradition of making sweets at home has slowly reduced and now the norm is to prepare just couple of varieties of sweets on the day of festival and bring the rest from mithai dukan (supermarket or store).
With lot of festivals coming up, I thought it would be useful for my readers to have a list of popular sweet recipes from around India in one single place. This will not only make it easy for anyone to plan a festival menu ahead of time, but also allow you to enjoy the festivities with your family instead of spending the entire day in the kitchen.
Some of the recipes linked below are from my blog, while others are creations of my food blogging friends. They have been enthusiastic in sharing their favorite dessert and sweet recipes with all of you. Please do check out all the recipes when you get a chance. The list below is in no way comprehensive, but is a work in progress. I will continue to update and maintain this list over time.
In this post you will find list of variety of Indian sweets and dessert recipes from North India and South India that are prepared during Indian festivals like 9 days of Navratri, Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Karwa Chauth, Varalakshmi vratam (varamahalakshmi pooja), Shravan (Sawan) month, Diwali, Holi, Raksha Bandhan, Ram Navami, Yugadi (Ugadi), Ramdan
